In recognition of Warrington District Camera Club's (WDCC) continued involvement with community and voluntary groups in the area, in December 2002 we were presented an 'Appreciation of efforts' certificate from the Mayor of Warrington and Dave Thompson MBE.
The award was 'In Appreciation of outstanding efforts towards improving the lives of local disabled people'. WDCC have been pleased to have been involved with the UK's largest Disability Awareness Day, held in Warrington each July for the past six years. Images from our members are used to promote and publicise the event.

WDCC Treasurer, a proud Chris Roxby is pictured above receiving this award from the Mayor. A number of other local voluntary groups and charities also received certificates and commendations on the night.

Getting involved with events such as DAD helps our members put something back into the local community while providing many opportunities beyond the everyday.


As one of our members commented, "I've learnt such a lot about my own backyard - all these images were under my nose all the time, I just needed a bit of help to realise it"
