More YGG gigs at the Levenshulme Palace

Yet another year, another YGG and another stunning lineup for Manchester Irish Festival.

We have been contributing as ever to the festival with a contribution to the festival photo exhibition. Ged Camera and ourselves have come up with some great images of Levenshulme as a record of this cracking part of Manchester, a true melting pot!

The gig tonight was the cream of the last 3 stages of the competition. Six quality bands, no room on the car park, a packed crowd cheering on the last six bands.

A nice mix of The Smiths, Velvet Underground meets Mark E Smith meets Morecambe and Wise, these lads don't mind entertaining and having some fun at the same time! Tonights gig was no different with a full posse of supporters and the usual set of gimmicks. Giant give away set lists and a guitarist with no arse in his trousers! Beyond the fun, the band played a cracking set with She's My Healer by far the strongest track. A good section of the gig was also filmed for the band. The Chase were voted third place behind Adept. THE HUSTLE

Nearly 3 years in the making, The Hustle had landed! Despite being the last band on tonight and a 25 minute over-run, The Hustle wiped away all 5 bands before them. The Hustle's supporters packed the stage area. Power Chords and Manc Guitar drives the band, never enough of it in the monitors for this band! The set was pure showman Rock and Roll and it was no surprise that the judges and the crowd vote brought The Hustle the prize of YGG 2004 winners.
