What is Numetal? Is Numetal new?? I remember bands like urban dance squad, living colour, rage against machine etc, not bands of the moment but in the same vien as the metal/rock vs hiphop/rap hybrid music the marketing men now call Nu-Metal. So what the f**k happened to OLD Metal?. Sell out? Who started this? Nu-Metal is often what people think metal music is today, but in reality it really isn't metal. Its the most mainstream "metal" there is. They use rap beats in their music and/or downtune the guitar to the max so that it creates a "heavy" sound. the usual suspects, are Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, etc. Nu-Metal isn't the only name for this type of music - it can also be called rap/metal, rapcore, mallcore, and many others that people can come up with. The influences come from Faith No More, Anthrax, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, and Rage Against the Machine. The first bands I noticed doing the "rap and metal go together" shit are 311, Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Deftones. Guess it started there - Shit - stop analysing + get on with enjoying it!
