Concrete Penguin

Mick Satair fronts a cracking mix of rock/dub fusion. Keep an eye on these lads who are actively touring the UK. Concrete Penguin was formed in 1996... After performing at all the decent places to play in the UK over the past 6 years, Concrete Penguin have worked with such people as Rock FM, BBC Radio 1, Devil Records and many more… Playing in front of loyal fans and influential individuals spread the word of CP high and wide. In 1999 the band became 6 with the addition of a successful DJ from the south, who had recently moved up to Manchester and wanted to join a band that was going places. Concrete Penguin was the choice of well known scratcher DJ Wonderhands... 1999 - Present has consisted of adapting current songs and new song writing by using innovative styles of scratching to fuse funk rock with hip-hop. This has created the catchy, funky sound of Concrete Penguin today... With electrical front man Mick Satiar, the blistering speed & precision of both guitarists, Adam Smethurst and Chris O'Neill, the most solid back line from bassist Chris Bird and drummer Benj Ashmead and the fresh new talent of DJ Wonderhands... Concrete Penguin is a force not to be missed. So now, with their amazing live atmosphere and new album the phenomenon that is Concrete Penguin is set to ROCK THE WORLD

The Middleton Civic hall is a (approx) 800 capacity venue in North Manchester.

With a decent sound engineer and a good lighting technician its a great venue.
