I’m looking for a particular band and cannot find them on your site. Where should I be looking?
Use the
site search or bands by nameWe are a band with a gig coming up. Can you come down and review it?
If we photograph your gig, we might add extra info on our website about you. We don’t usually just do reviews.
Have us photograph it & chances are we will include a shot on our website.
There’s a review of our band on your site. Can we use it?
Feel free. Just add a link over to us, then tell us using the
link form.I am a budding model, how do I start. Can you help?
Any budding model (male or female), needs a portfolio of shots (test shots).
These test shots need not cost the earth and with a bit of know-how, you might even get them for free!
Track down some local photographer or a Photo club who needs models.
Always try to check them out first and at the session, be accompanied by one or more friends, partners, parent or family. Be safe!
We sometimes do test shoots for models of all types in North West England.
The more fashionable and alternative the better for us.
Photo makeovers can be notoriously ‘Hard sell’.
That free £20 portrait may end up costing several hundred if you (or your partner / parent) are persuaded to buy lots of the shots.
Beware agencies that will take several hundred pounds from you to ‘go on their books’.
Do you do live gigs?
We certainly do photograph live gigs! The area we work in is North West England.
Just to clear any mis-understanding up straight away that is NORTH WEST ENGLAND, UK. Nowhere near Seattle
(All our US visitors are welcome on the site, but we will need an air ticket in the post to catch your gig at ‘Tilt’ on Varick Street next Thursday).
You choose the type of images you would like.
If you would like all the images in various formats, including pre-sized for the web, we can do that too?

We need biog shots can you help?
Sure we can! You choose the venue.
We will meet up first to chew over ideas then select a date for the shoot.
If you would like all the images in various formats, including pre-sized for the web, we can
do that too.
I am doing a photographic course, are you looking for assistants?
The short answer is probably no, but get
in touch and ifI have some shots I took at a gig last week, will you put them on your site?
No. All shots on the site are taken by our photographers.
Contact the band you photographed, maybe they can use the shots.
I am looking for Porno / Woman+Animal / Large Cock pix.
Where are they?
You’ve got the wrong Hotpix there mate!
I spotted some incorrect / out of date info on your site can you update it?
Certainly. Band line ups change and typos occur.
Use the contact form and our webmistress will sort it as soon as she can.
I have a website – can I add a link over to Hotpix.Org.UK?
Yep! Add that link! If you feel inclined, print our homepage out,
blu-tac it to the bumper of your car, tell your friends, tell everyone – spread the word – the word is Hotpix(.org.uk).

I have a website – can you add a link over to us?
We have several pages of links to related music, photography, entertainment and fashion websites.
Usually we can get our webmistress to add a link within a month or so.
Better still, add your link over to us and contact us using the
Do you do Black and White images?
We sure do, since 1989. We print them ourselves too. Not on inkjet printers with 100 year guaranteed Lyson inks,
but on traditional Multigrade photographic paper. If you would like a gig / event covered in monochrome,
contact us. We have also been known to do the odd
I am an internet designer looking to revamp your site or index you on 5,000 search engines,
do you want to take up our offer?
Do we f**k!
We already are indexed just about everywhere we want to be.
You obviously haven’t checked! Also, there’s not 5,000 search engines, so stop taking the p*ss.
I was admiring your Infra Red images, have you any tips?
See the panel on the
Infra-red pages. Have a go!A friend of mine is in a band & needs some live photo’s, what technique should I use?
If you have an SLR and are confident with it (and read its manual from front to back),
I’d get as close to the band as possible (within 2 metres) & use a flash.
Faster film (200 / 400 ASA) helps. Take lots of shots.
If you are using a zoom compact, force the flash on and hope for the best!
Make sure you get permission if it is required to take the shots and use flash.
Larger bands might only allow the 1st track to be photographed.
Even some people who think they know what they are doing get caught out sometimes by a 'no flash' rule at
large gigs (by Brummie bands who know only 3 chords..)
. If you are reading this, you may know who you are!
If you would like us to cover the next gig,
contact us hereWe are looking for a live gig with our new band. Can you help?
Email us your details.
We will provide a few names in the North West to contact to help you.
I think you covered our band back in 1996. Can we still get some images?
Yep.
Send us the dates / where the band played and we will track the negatives down for you. We will do what we can to help. Its always good to see what happened to all those local musicians!
Your website concentrates on new signed/unsigned talent in the North West. Why don't you take your talent elsewhere?
We admit it! We think the North West is the business!
We have grown up here and been interested in the North West music scene for over 20 years since we were
at school here in Middleton. Our website is full of hundreds of new and unsigned bands from the area
because their gigs are more exciting. We get much more excited about the challenge of getting stunning
shots in small packed venues. Any half wit photographer can get a few shots at a big venue with
all areas access & fill the daytime with pix of kids and families.
That would bore us rigid. We'd rather stick with what we like, that way you get
the most stunning shots.
