The Blends

The Crewe based band The Blends showed a great hunger for success with a set good from the start. Well rehearsed, tight tracks and the band truly working together as a team. I couldn't guess the limits of The Blends influences, Grunge Rock, Post Punk and some LA west Coast attitude thrown in for good measure!
Methinks we might be seeing the return of these chaps sometime soon.

The Randoms

When The Randoms bounced on to the stage you could have been forgivan for thinking we had already witnesses the largest range of musical influences for one night. The Randoms smoothly blended Led Zep era rock with rhythms borrowed from The Clash and Buzzcocks incarnation, Magazine. Needless to say the crowd lapped it up. The lead singer Greg towering over the punters with authority. With good connection with the audience, tight bass lines and an accurate percusion style, The Randoms had 'quality' written through them like through a stick of rock.

Orinoco Shores

A great opening from Winsford based Orinoco Shores with 'Rock and Roll'. All those gigs down at DB's Bar club in Winsford have helped the lads build up the start of a following and some had certainley came to cheer them on tonight. The quirky mix of homegrown tracks and cleverly selected covers was just what the doctor ordered. The Beatles Lady Maddonna being an inspired selection. Zoots and Hawaii 5-0 shored up some vintage Orinoco Shores material. Pretty Vacent a fitting end!

The Orinoco Shores are Mike Williams on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, John Wilson on lead guitar and backing vocals, Karl Jones on bass guitar + Stewart Gowland on drums and backing vocals.
There are still some copies of The Shores Chill Studios Stockport recorded demo and Sunglasses and Songs for The masses EP and recently they have played at The Roadhouse Manchester, Band On The Wall Manchester, The Picket in Liverpool and The Witchwood Ashton-U-Lyne.
