UnDunUp

A fine debut at the Rec from UnDunUp. A late start with 'Never Wanted to Stop' and 'Why Dont they realise' brought us some tight tracks and we could tell that this bands set would be cut short to get the rest of the night underway before Bank Holiday last orders. One way Ticket and a cover track still failed to connect with the crowd. A few bum chords during Off the shelf and Jump at the chance demonstrated the mortality of the band, but that with a lot more practice, a few more cutting of teeth with more gigs theres plenty of promise with UnDunUp.

Lymphnode

Hitting the stage like an express train, Lymphnode were here! No false starts here and a band that delighted the punters from the off. Tom, Nick and Rob brought that Stoke attitude to Northwich once again.

New Jack Swing

A change of tempo for the arrival of the Mushroom Fish ladies and gents in their new incarnation of New Jack Swing. The vocals cannot be faulted, nor the funk guitar. The crowd lapped it up and even I was regretting there was no spare minutes for an encore.

Monkey Shuffle

Next style on our plate was those bouncy cuddly Macclesfield Punks, Monkey Shuffle. So many great bands from that neck of Cheshire at the moment. Must be the effect of having Ian Curtis down the road in the cemetary! MonkeyShuffle are thankfully livlier on stage than darkest Joy Division and the band managed to pound through the back catalog cutting like a chainsaw into 'Let it Go' and 'Build on Pride'. No time or inclination for a breather as 'For Your Cause' and 'You Can Shut The Door' got the moshers moving. The excellent 'Take up the fight' and 'Stand Up' completed the set, tight, beautiful and raw as someones dodgy white skinned back, over done in last weeks heatwave. You know who you are!

Beyond Our Means

Last band of the night was Stokes HardCore Metal masters 'Beyond Our Means'. Daz from Fall.Out and his slowley growing beard joined the lads to start the first track of the set 'Buried Alive'. To appreciation from the crowd, BeyondOurMeans slammed into Crash + walk away. The pounding bass was curling the wallpaper as 'walk Away' and 'Fu** You' kicked in. Break Down and Together brought some moshing movement. A sterling top rate performance. BOM never dissapoint!
