Djevara

The second outing this far north for Djevara, the last visit to a gig at the Gladstone Club.

As before a very tight set, reminiscent of Rage Against The Machine with a British edge. If this band cannot crack the mainstream in the next year, theres something seriously wrong with the rock industry. Liquid Sky

A band with members spread throughout Cheshire, girl fronted with some rock attitude. After thanking the banned network, the first band, last band, God, Alalla etc, etc, I was glad to see this band knock out a brilliant set. Dark, sometimes bordering on gothic, prog rock + metal amalgram. All original material, Fleetwood Mac meets Black rebel Motor Cycle Club! The eight track set covered a lot of ground. Salvation, Echo and Earth were my favourite tracks, Blinded; Dawn's pale light come close. Some great writing talant, the pinicle of which was Stitches. Not a packed venue unfortunately, but I guess this five-some will be back.

Liquid Sky are: Fiona Creaby (vocals), Denis Richard Constable (Bass), Jonathan Benjamin Craven (guitars/vocals), Audie Daniel Lewis (guitars) + James Ward (Drums).
Formed in Jan 2000, the band had a lease of life in July 2003 with the arrival of Fiona Creaby.

Lukash

All the way from North of the Black Country, Wolverhampton, Lukash gave us some cracking rock tracks. Not used to the crazy moshing up North, the band nearly quit the gig when the mosh pit looked ugly. real life I am afraid, Rock and Roll! Still, I cannot fault the band, Lipstick, It Didn't Mean Anything, Player and Little White Lies, some great tracks led by grinding guitar, coherent drumming and a great image! Make sure you buy the CD and soon.

Lukash are Carl Lewis, Adam Hood and Joe Singh. Doing the rounds, the band have gigs this month at The Two Pigs Cheltenham, Yeovil ,Dorchester, Gloucester, Birmingham, Bullington Arms Oxford, The Marr's Bar Worcester, Pop London and The Crest Bristol.
