The sort of bunch of lads that Shaq might have booked! No shortage of kick ass trash attitude that connected well with the crowd. A corking opening of 'You' and 'Not my God' set the pace for the well tred CD tracks 'Vengence' and 'Crash' delivered smooth as velvet. By the time we got to 'Buried Alive' and 'Fuck You' BOM were in the home straight. The final track 'Pre-Emptive Strike' seemed to come too soon. This brand of metal would be welcome here again. Mad guitars and playing them in the crowd overjoyed the assembled punters. A final couple of tracks in overtime with half the Rec on the stage with them, topped off the set nicely. Back 2 Site Map |

Click here to view a contact sheet of Tony Smiths images from the gigClick here if you have more info on this band | Zombina and the Skeletones A great set of ghoul Rock with lots of themed tracks and some makeup to fit the effect from this Merseyside based band. A rare trip away from the Zanzibar Club in Liverpool was pretty productive. Not quite as over-Addams family dressed as I have seen them before, but delightfully kitch as ever. Opening with 'Night' and 'Punk Rock Vamp', Doc Horror, Grim Outlook, Jonny Tokyo & Kit Shivers made the garveyard rock. The Skeletones seemed to race through Martians, BrainDead and Christina. Proms Night and Dead Alive came with some goth keyboards while the lead singer dominated Dennis The Menace like in her blue and black. I luv rock and roll and Horror High rounded off a great set. Check em out at their own clubnight 'Useless' at Liverpools Zanzibar club, Seel St. Zombina at the ZanZiBar Feb 2003 |

A similar polished set, this time opening with the bouncing sounds of 'Breathe' and 'Train'. As ever, no shortage of attitude and movement around the stage! 'Breathe' is now available on the ExhibitA CD single (A better 3 pound than spent on a pint + a half of lager at any rate!). The riffs continued into 'One Song', 'Fallen' and 'Get A Name'. Anal Intrusion was to follow after 'No One/Nothing'. ExhibitA were in their element as they started 'Understand' and 'Hardcore Porno'. Knocking home the final track 'Jazz Connection' they were triumphant once again. Come back soon ghosts of Xmas punk past! Back 2 Site Map |
