Stokes death metal soldiers Headpress with the best drummer I have seen all year, Funk Fuelled tunes from Manchester (Didsbury) based Brothers with different Mothers. Finally, Londons answer to Rage Against The machine Djevara. The Gladstone was packed, but the question of the night was.... What dickhead shut the bar at 10.15 then??

Click here to view a contact sheet of images from the gig | Brothers with Different Mothers A contrast to Headpress, BWDM were the perfect sandwich filling. Could Uber Funk be the next Rock and Roll? Well whatever it was, it was pretty enjoyable. Different folk up on the dance floor. The brothers were confident and gifted, kicking off with Super Magick Garden and Easy Rolling. Consistantantly catchy tracks like Todays the day and Same Way Round, the Autumn Leaves, Glass of Fresh Air followed. Rocktopussy and Sirens of the city preceeded the Jimi Hendrix cover Stone Free. The Brothers 7 track CD-EP was selling well. A charismatic band that I would like to see in a venue like The Band on the Wall.
