Don't miss the BANNED! networks 10th anniversary celebrations across August.

A mixed collection of bands at this gig from sixties single guitar led Gortama from Ellesmere Port, to the haubting mellow sounds of Rendezvous. All polished off with what seemed like an enormous Ska party started and provoked by Staffords own 'Grown At Home'.

Rendezvous

Quite mellow after the opening band by comparison. Almost acoustic soul sounds crossed with St Ettiene and maybe not initially what the 'Rec crowd were expecting.
Manchester based Rendezvous have been gigging around manchester for sometime and have an iminent CD release in the pipeline.
This evenings tracks included We might get by, Reach for the sky, Harbour Bay and Story of a Man. All original tracks written by the band which has only recently swelling into a four piece. The set finished with the new track 'Dance with Fire', Never had a moment and listen to me.
The band have already this summer played the Bakers Vault in Stockport and have further gigs at the Star and Garter (Fairfield St) Manchester coming up as part of Acoustic Grooves.
Rendezvous are: Jane Britton on lead vocals, Paul Britton on guitar, Dale Hitchen on Base and Steve Howell on drums.

Grown At Home

Stunning Ska from what seemed at times like a 12 piece band from the madness and melody they managed to cook up!

The mosh pit was full and the brass section as cool as ice as the gyrating lead singer sweated buckets.
Grown at home hail from Stafford and feature full on Ska mixed with some mean punk guitar.
Tracks on the night included One For Me, N.I.E, High on Life, DTD, Burt Sampson, 123 Jay, Pink Gerald and SOH.

Grown at home are Sam, Chris, Nick, Bob, KayT, Jay, Cookie, Adam, and Edd.

During Summer 2003, the Grown at Home tour takes in The Talbot in Stoke 7sep (with Big D + The Kids Table / Adequate 7 ), The little civic Wolverhampton 3Aug (with Howards Alias + No Comply / Zeropointsix), The Castle in Oldham (with The Fractions + Speed Monkey), Rochdale at the Backdoor Project 29Aug, The Packhorse Leeds 12Sep (with Milk2Sugars), Abrahams in Huddersfield 13sep, The Vic Inn, Derby 15sep (with The Wayriders) and on the 31st Oct Hanley Sugarmill (with Friends of Ken).
