Mike and Jan Tutty have a cheery greeting for visitors to the Bird in Hand, a free house which has built up quite a reputation for the quality of its cooking.

Snacks & Specials are listed on a blackboard in the bar, supplementing a menu that includes excellent versions of classic pub dishes, from prawn cocktails to steaks, home made curries, lasagne & savoury pies.
There's a good choice for children, plus an extensive variety of vegetarian food. The Bird in Hand is a popular venue for functions (up to 200 can be accommodated in Function Room) and other attractions include skittle alley, pool table, separate bar & lounge and a no smoking restaurant.
