Lynn Hanley (B.A Hons) in her unique style documents this marvellous city, its features, pubs, shops and its characters. Lynn's attic studio is situated in the west of Edinburgh. | |||
L ynn's cityscapes of Edinburgh show the influence of her textile background. Her love of colour, texture and the architecture of the city combine to create a unique artistic style. The layering effect of the Old Town and the vibrant life of Edinburgh during the Festival being the main unavoidable inspiration for her work.H er paintings often depict quirky details and are full of characters making the paintings into little stories. Lynn also undertakes commissioned work for house portraits, specific Edinburgh scenes and also produces prints and cards from her original paintings.L ynn Hanley was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, which is an industrial city in the far North east of England. Following a Foundation Course at the College of Arts and Technology in Newcastle-upon-Tyne between 1981 and 1982, she went on to study Printed Textile Design (B.A.Hons) at Manchester Polytechnic (1982-1985).L ynn has been living and working in Edinburgh since 1985. | ||||
